Workspace apps

Ready-made apps for the work around your site.

Workspace apps are ready-made tools for the work around your website: your customers, bookings, emails, invoices and posts. You add the ones you need from the Apps page, and each one shows what it can use before you turn it on.

Example. An example. The Apps page with the Add an app tab open and one card, Social Poster by Serenities AI: Plan and schedule social media posts from one calendar. It can access Social channels and posts and Your files. The card has an Enable button.

You see what an app can use before you enable it.

What it is

Tools you switch on, not a new website to build.

A workspace app is a ready-made tool that lives in your Serenities account, next to your website. You find it under Apps in the left menu, press Enable, and it opens inside your dashboard. Serenities keeps it up to date for you.

Each app shows what it is allowed to use of your account (for example your social channels or your files) before you turn it on, and you can switch any of that off afterwards. Your AI agents can use an app's actions too, but only the ones you allow.

Your website is what your visitors see. A workspace app is for your own work. It has no public address of its own.

Pick a job, add the app that does it, and get going.

Schedule posts for all your social channels from one calendar.

Social Poster shows your posts by month, week, day or list. Drag a post to another day or time to move it. It posts to Bluesky, LinkedIn, Facebook Pages, Instagram, Threads, Pinterest, YouTube and TikTok.

Say the same thing everywhere, or something different on each channel.

A post is shared by every channel you pick. Any one channel can have its own text, pictures and comments, and the rest stay as they were.

Add a first comment that goes up with the post.

Put your hashtags or link in a comment that is posted the moment the post goes live.

Let an AI agent plan your posts, and keep the final say.

An agent can list your channels and posts, save drafts, schedule a post and cancel one. For each of these actions you choose: On its own, Asks you first or Off.

Build a small tool just for you.

Press Create app, describe what it should do ("Keyword research" is the example on the form), and the builder writes it. You save it and open it from Apps whenever you need it.

Check, and change, what an app may use.

Open an app's App settings > Permissions to see each thing it can use, turn any of them off, and see what it used recently.

01Open Apps and choose Add an app

Open Apps and choose Add an app

In the left menu press Apps. At the top of the page there are two tabs: Your apps (the apps you have turned on or made) and Add an app (ready-made apps). Open Add an app.

Example. The Apps page has two tabs, Your apps and Add an app, and a Create app button.

02Read what the app can use

Read what the app can use

Each card shows the app's name, a short line about what it does, and what it can use, after the words Can access:. For example, Social Poster's card says Can access: Social channels and posts · Your files.

Example. The Social Poster card: Plan and schedule social media posts from one calendar. Can access: Social channels and posts and Your files. An Enable button.

03Press Enable

Press Enable

Press + Enable. The button says "Setting up…", then you see "App enabled" and the app opens in your dashboard. Only the Owner, an Admin or a Developer of the workspace can enable apps; for anyone else the card says so.

What an app by Serenities asks for is allowed when you enable it. You can turn any of it off afterwards (step 4).

Example. The Enable button on the Social Poster card, and the message App enabled.

04Set what it may do

Set what it may do

Open App settings (top right of the app). There are tabs for Settings (if the app has any), Actions, Permissions and About.

  • Actions are the things an AI agent or an automation can ask the app to do. Each one is On its own (runs without asking), Asks you first (an agent waits for your approval in Needs your approval) or Off.
  • Permissions list what the app can use. Switch any off. Under "When can it use this?", In use means only while you are using the app; Always also covers your AI agents and schedules when you are not in the app. What it used recently shows what it did.
  • To let an AI agent run an app at all, turn on Can run your apps and sites on the agent's own page.

To remove an app, go to Your apps and press the bin icon (Remove app). Social Poster keeps your connected channels and your posts, and you can enable it again.

Example. The Actions tab of Social Poster. See which social channels you have connected: On its own. Save a draft, schedule a post, or publish one now: Asks you first. Cancel a scheduled post before it goes out: Off.

Get one made

Or describe the app you wish you had

  1. On Apps, press Create app.
  2. Give it a Name. What is it for? is optional.
  3. Press Create. The builder opens, with the AI chat on the left. Describe what the app should do.
  4. Press Save app (it is the button where a website has Publish Site).
  5. Go to Apps > Your apps and press Open. Until you save, the list says "Not saved yet — open the builder and press Save app".

An app you make runs inside your account and has no public address. It is built in the same editor as a website.

Example. The Create app form. Name: e.g. Keyword research. What is it for? Optional. Cancel and Create buttons.

Limits

What to know before you add one

  • Only some people can enable apps: the Owner, an Admin or a Developer.
  • Free plan: 2 workspace apps. Paid plans allow more; the Apps page shows how many you have used ("n of m workspace apps"), and if you reach the limit it offers Upgrade. See Pricing for the current plans.
  • Apps by Serenities are updated by Serenities. You can read what changed under What's new.
  • Each app uses what its Can access: line lists, and you can turn any of it off. An app you make yourself runs as you and does not use this permission list.
  • To link apps to your site, ask the AI. It sets up the link, and you switch it on.
  • You choose which actions your AI agents may use. Each action starts switched off for agents until you turn it on.
  • Connected accounts stay yours. Social Poster uses your own social accounts; you connect each one from the app's Channels page.

Quick answers

What is a workspace app?

A ready-made tool that runs in your Serenities account, next to your website. You add it from Apps > Add an app, and you decide what it may use.

Where do I find and add one?

Press Apps in the left menu, open the Add an app tab, read what the app can use after "Can access:", and press Enable. Only the Owner, an Admin or a Developer can enable apps.

Can my apps work together?

Yes, when you set it up. Ask the AI to link them, for example to send new form entries from your website into an app. It builds the link for you to check and switch on. Each app works with what its "Can access:" line lists.

Can I add more apps later?

Yes. Add any available app from Apps > Add an app, or press Create app and describe one you want made. Your plan sets how many workspace apps you can have; the Free plan has two.

What do apps get to use?

Only what the card says after "Can access:". After you enable an app you can switch any of it off under App settings > Permissions, and you can see what it used recently.

Can my AI agents use an app?

Yes, if you allow it. Turn on "Can run your apps and sites" on the agent, then choose for each action whether it runs on its own, asks you first, or is off.

Do I have to update an app?

No. Apps by Serenities update on their own. Press What's new to see what changed.
